Which iOS devices are supported?
Data Deposit Box runs on iPhone and iPad, and supports modern versions of iOS and iPadOS.
What can I back up from my iPhone or iPad?
Photos and contacts. Videos and documents aren’t currently supported on iOS — back those up from a Mac or PC on the same account instead.
How do I install Data Deposit Box on my iPhone or iPad?
Open the App Store, search for “Data Deposit Box”, and download the app. Sign in with your Data Deposit Box account, grant photos and contacts access when prompted, and you’re set.
Does the app back up in the background?
Not continuously. iOS limits how long apps can run in the background to preserve battery life, so Data Deposit Box syncs new photos and contacts each time you open it. For best results, open the app regularly — ideally on Wi-Fi — so it can check in and upload anything new.
Can I move my contacts between iOS and Android?
Yes. We back up contacts as standard vCards, so they restore cleanly between iOS and Android — or to any device that reads vCard (.vcf) files.
What happens when I get a new iPhone?
Install the app on your new phone and sign in — your contacts and photos are restorable from your account, including the ones backed up from your old device.
