Business Development Rep – Job Description

Data Deposit Box is expanding our sales team and we are hiring a Business Development Representative (inside sales) for our Toronto office.

The Business Development Rep (BDR) will initiate, qualify and develop and close new business for Data Deposit Box. The BDR will prioritize their target market, position our value proposition then drive a formal sales process to close new business for our products.

The BDR is accountable for achieving monthly / quarterly revenue targets for Data Deposit Box.

The ideal candidate will possess a desire to develop their professional selling skills and must be a fit for our entrepreneurial, team-based culture.


  1. Quota Attainment – “hunter” mentality, will meet / exceed monthly / quarterly revenue objectives.
  2. Territory Planning – will develop and document strategy to build sales pipeline within defined target prospects.
  3. Demand Generation – will create demand for Data Deposit Box services within a defined territory.
  4. Lead and Progress the Sales Strategy – will drive the sales process through to completion.
  5. Weekly Reporting and Funnel Management – will complete all weekly pipeline and activity reporting in accordance with Data Deposit Box’s forecasting cadence.

Basic Qualifications

Performance Objectives and Measurements

Commissions and bonuses are available for meeting and/or exceeding specific measurements. The specific measurements are as follows:

  • In year revenue
  • Company profitability
  • Specific project activities as approved by VP Sales
